Mark Keppel High School
More than music
Mark Keppel’s instrumental music programs are places to belong, grow, and create something bigger than yourself.
Across Band, Orchestra, and Color Guard, students learn musicianship, movement, teamwork, resilience, and the confidence to lead. Every section matters. Every student contributes. Every performance tells our story.
The band journey
From first rehearsal to final cadenceIn the busy hallways of Mark Keppel High School, every new school year arrives with a new set of possibilities. For students who choose band, that path opens into music, leadership, challenge, and adventure.

The band is more than an ensemble of instruments. It is a gateway to invaluable life lessons, leadership opportunities, and an enduring sense of camaraderie. That journey begins at band camp, where new and returning musicians come together to learn the fundamentals of music, the precision of marching, and the discipline of working as one synchronized team.
The sun, repetition, and challenge of mastering music and movement ask a great deal of every student. In return, students discover resilience. Shared effort becomes friendship; individual practice becomes collective achievement; and a group of musicians becomes a band family.
The true reward is not merely finding the right note, but uncovering the remarkable potential within each student.
The Mark Keppel Band represents teamwork, dedication, and an unwavering school spirit. Its success is measured not only in performances or awards, but in the personal growth that happens along the way—in every success, setback, crescendo, and quiet moment of determination.

Our programs
The boosters support every student performer with resources, encouragement, and a community that shows up.

Brass, woodwinds, and percussion come together through musicianship, marching precision, and shared school pride.

String musicians develop listening, expression, and ensemble artistry while bringing great music to the stage.

Movement, equipment work, and visual storytelling bring energy and emotion to performances on the field and in the community.
The craft
Instrumental music and visual performance ask students to unite technique, movement, focus, and expression. Every detail matters, and every performer contributes to the whole.
Brass, woodwinds, and percussion bring distinct voices to one ensemble. Students unite tone, balance, timing, movement, and expression to create one powerful sound on the field and in concert.
Orchestra students learn to listen deeply and respond as an ensemble. Technique, phrasing, balance, and interpretation turn individual parts into a shared musical experience.
Color Guard blends dance, precision, equipment work, and visual storytelling. Through movement and teamwork, performers give shape, color, and emotion to the music.
We don’t just perform together.
We grow together.
